Your TechED feedback please

If you attended TechED, please share your feedback. If you have feedback from others feel free to post it. If you know others who did attend, please send them to this blog. You can either make a comment on this entry or use the "contact me" bit. I will post some of my impressions later today. The main categories of feedback:

1) Sessions in terms of speakers and content (what Eben and I own for the dev audience)

2) The Social aspects of TechED.

3) Logistics (Food, transport etc)

If you can give an overall rating per section (out of 9, does not have to a whole number so something like 7.2 is ok) and for the event as a whole that would be great. Seeing that this was the first event in Durbs, any comments on the move would also be good.

Finally, comments on areas of improvement are welcomed too.

Hey man ....

I digg'd TechEd this year. Loved the new venue as i felt it was MORE enclosed and contained than Sun City. I liked the fact that you didn't have to run between hotels to get to session rooms and loved how the exbo center felt right in the heart of things!

The days were LONG! 8am to 18:30 .... that's a lot of sessions!

1. I agree with your thoughts. people read only the title and don't read the descriptions. A couple of people attended my sessions and said the content didn't match the title. But if you had read the description I feel the content matched perfectly.

2. The social aspects were as good as always. Mon night at leisure was a bit weird, but it did give us some great opportunities to do things like the MVP braai etc.

3. Logistics were amazing in my opinion. Everything seemed to run like clockwork.

TechEd 2008 was absolutely awesome. A very refreshing change from Sun City. Days were quite long but the great speakers made it worthwhile - by great speakers, I am including you Ahmed - your slide to demo record was really cool. I think the parties were quite cool. I'm not really a party person :-( but even I enjoyed it. The logistics were quite awesome, I get a headache if I think of the amount of planning and organising that went into an event that ran so seamlessly. I think the move to Durban was a brilliant idea, apparently the Durban air is better than ours here on Joburg...apparently. I would definutely give TechEd 2008 a rating of 9, for the event as a whole. The amount of speakers was great and also the spectrum of technologies covered. I hope my company sends me to TechEd 2009.
