Apologies for the downtime. The old server had a hardware failure and I had to rebuild and restore dotnet.org.za from scratch with limited time available.

Everything should be back to normal now though.

We had a machine more than capable in theory of hosting Hyper-V, yet it had HUGE problems with the networking, so bad that we could not even power up a non-networked Hyper-V guest because it kept saying that it could not power on the physical network card...

Microsoft's support to our Gold Certified company on this was non-existant. In fact worse than non-existant, since when I complained about their lack of support they ignored that too.

So, we've thrown Hyper-V out the window, and will be trying products that actually work and are supported such as KVM/ESX Server....

A very refreshing change from Sun City. Days were quite long but the great speakers made it worthwhile - by great speakers, I am including you Ahmed - your slide to demo record was really cool. I think the parties were quite cool. I'm not really a party person :-( but even I enjoyed it. The logistics were quite awesome, I get a headache if I think of the amount of planning and organising that went into an event that ran so seamlessly. I think the move to Durban was a brilliant idea, apparently the Durban air is better than ours here on Joburg...apparently. I would definutely give TechEd 2008 a rating of 9, for the event as a whole. The amount of speakers was great and also the spectrum of technologies covered. I hope my company sends me to TechEd 2009.
