--> Weekend & DevDays - Impersonation Failure

Weekend & DevDays

Weekend has just been signalled by a colleague by passing round a bottle of Jose Cuervo gold in the office. Not the best thing for me as I'm still feeling a little brittle after the post-DevDays dinner but how do you say no to an offer like that.

This year's DevDays have definately been well worth going to. Except for the minor technical hitches during the Keynote, where's the backup laptops ;-), the day really was excellent. Good to have level 300+ sessions, hopefully Microsoft will continue with this trend for future events. Another thing I really appreciate coming from Microsoft South Africa is that you can really see that they are listening to the local development community and is acting on feedback that is given back to them.

The downloads for the IssueVision application which was used for the SmartClient track is available from here (vb.net) or here (c#). Not sure of the url from Microsoft for the C# version but the other link works just fine.

If you're keen to get a DPAPI wrapper component there's one available on GotDotNet under user samples, so go search for it or save yourself the effort and use this shortcut :-)

A couple of local bloggers and SA Developer members met up at Blueberry Grill afterwards. Was certainly good to meet up again and meet some new people as well. We were there for about a hour, if that long when there was gunshots about 50m from us. A security guard "arrested" the dude, everyone clapped and went back to whatever they've been doing.

I can't remember everyone's names but here's the blogs of those I do know and that do have blogs (in no particular order, except for Thea :-)

Thea, Kevin, Simon, Iwan, Hendrik, Sonja, Paul, Mario.
