IMHO - WMP Now Playing Formatter

I was looking for a plug-in for Windows Media player to display the currently playing song as part of a blog post and found the Windows Media Player fun pack. It contains a Blogging Plug-in which is also available as a seperate download with support for several blogging tools including w.bloggar etc.

However I'm using IMHO, which is not supported, exclusively for blogging and it rocks so I wrote this little plug-in as a test for IMHO in the form of a formatter that allows you to display the currenly playing song in your WebLog Editor. It only took about a hour to write with the plug-in architecture provided by IMHO making it very easy.

To get it to work just create a folder under formatters under the IMHO installation folder and copy the dll into it. The Now Playing plugin should appear next to the Code Snippet Editor when you restart IMHO.

It requires the wmp.blogging plugin for Media Player mentioned above to be installed. For instructions on how to get the installs working on Server 2003 and also generally to see what's going on in an installation see Chris Hynes's post.

Programmer excuse #9 - It works on my machine. It was only written as a test to see how the IMHO plug-ins work and hasn't been tested. Might improve it to make the text customizable as well as linking to the the album on Amazon. If you want the source just let me know and I'll post it.

[Note - Using IMHO 1.0.17xx something might give some Clipboard errors when clicking on the formatter. This is fixed in 1.1]
