Site Update - Spam & ASP.NET 2.0
I deployed an updated version of .Text for dotnet.org.za tonight.
The most significant changes is the addition of two new anti-spam measures.
The site is also now running on ASP.NET 2.0. In the end that turned out to be quite a job to get .Text converted but I'll blog about that later.
The new changes haven't been tested much and I'm aware of a couple of issues so please let me know if you notice anything not working as before on the site.
The upgrade took a bit longer as expected so I didn't get around to writing a tool to delete the existing comment spam in the database. I'm sitting with 653 comment spam messages on my blogs alone so deleting it manually would be real tedious. I'm really hoping that's the last 653 comment spam we'll have to deal with but I'll post an update once I had time to look at writing an automated deletion tool.
On the filters, if you do see spam that made it through the filters please send me the message so we can update the filters.
