--> Inspiron 9400 - Impersonation Failure

It looks like Dell has got quite a special going on Inspiron 9400 notebooks at the moment :P Just bought myself the system listed below for a very reasonable R2 397 ($340)

Thanks to the Henk Kleynhans for picking up on this, Mike for the heads up and Dell for making available their great notebooks at such bargain prices! Dell, honor your quoted prices and I'll be your most loyal supporter and a brand evangelist for life!! :-)

[Update 1: It seems this isn't the first time a glitch on Dell's site have lead to problems with product pricing. On this occasion they shipped the orders until the stock ran out.]

[Update 2: Called Dell Customer Service to inquire about my order status - I now understand why Dell's Customer Service, especially here in South Africa, is rated so low. I was informed by a less than friendly call center agent that all orders placed on Friday have been canceled  and than an apology would be forthcoming from their legal department. I didn't expect them to ship the orders but I certainly did expect a better/friendlier response from Dell.Instead of handling this in a decent fashion and possibly gaining a future customer they've definitely lost one here.]

That url is dead, so I think the 'offer' is gone. WHen I try to configure that system manually I have to pay over 1100euro ex tax, so 340$ is way too cheap. IF you get that machine for that money, congrats! :)

Hey Armand

I read the posts - looks like the laptops were free for a little while.  :s

I'm sure Dell wont deliver them :P

Anyway, how did you get yours for R2,397?

Sorry, they wised up to this already...

"The page you requested may no longer exist on Dell.com

   * There may be a misspelling in the URL you have entered

   * The page or file you are looking for has been moved, retired or is no longer available"

Pity though...

Did you actually get this delivered. You are very lucky. As soon I saw the post I went off and wanted to buy one. No luck for me

I doubt they'll actually deliver but I'm hoping for at least some kind of a response from Dell.

To just ignore all the orders would not say much for their customer service and I was under the impression Dell was really working on improving that aspect.

Mark, I updated the specs from the default configuration, that's why mine worked out a bit more.
