  • Welcome to 64-bit hell

I just spent a few hours trying to figure out an issue on a project I started a while back to automate the SQL replication setup for any servers we add to our environment. I started the project when I had some free time a few months ago, then got going on another project which took preference, and now finally have time to get going again. First thing I did after loading the solution was hit F5 to run it, making sure that everything is as it should. Also remembering that I left it in a working state...
  • SQL Joins

Technical documentation being what it is, I've never found the explanation of joins in the SQL Books Online very clear, without actually going and playing with the dummy data and the different types of joins. • How far can we trust software awards

According to this post by Andy Brice, not too much. He submitted a fake program to various sites, and got 16 5-star awards for software that can't run. Very nice. So be careful before believing the awards calimed by software packages. Cross-posted from baldy.co.za Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

  • Running Community Server for a single blog

After a bit of searching I have found Ken Robertson's plugin to change Community Server from a multiple blog installation, to a single blog installation. It took all of 2 minutes to do the installation and configuration, and my blog is now happily running on the root of my site, without any complaints, and without the need for readers to click on one extra link to get to it. You can get it here http://qgyen.net/archive/2006/07/14/Qgyen.ExtendedUrlMapping-for-CS-v2.1.aspx Cross-posted from baldy.co...
