On the Server side is a small article on Martin Taylor's interview on slashdot about this topic. They even have a link to a mp3 of the telephone conversation. Martin Taylor on Linux and Windows http://www.theserverside.net/news/thread.tss?thread_id=32104 Some of the question slashdotters wanted to ask him was quite bizar... The Server side web site has an article on MS considdering to make SQL 2005 open source - wow ok?? SQL Server 2005: Pricing and Open Source http://www.theserverside.net/news/thread.tss?thread_id=32089 Actually MS is refering to 'shared source' which is not the same as open source but for laymen (reporters) that sounds the same. Latest update of the application is available. I've added some profile management for those playing with multiple accounts plus added a simple 'auto banking' facility. The auto banking seems to work on my test machine but it requires a lot of more testing and tweaking to make it robust. It also include a timer that u can set to bank every x minutes (variable). So far it seems to all work. Install: http://dotnet.org.za/codesamples/rudolf/DarkThroneBrowserInstall08.zip Source code: http://dotnet.org...

The only reason I'm not applying for this gig is that I'm no longer in the 18-25 year old bracket. Also, I'm not actually a game designer, but that I could lie about. I repeat - the only reason. Just so we're clear. Anyway, I'll throw it out there for anyone else that is interested. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

I tried the map route function on www.shellgeostar.co.za. What impresses me most is that it's free. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Are the developers in KZN hiding away. I know many of them come out on Saturdays to listen to Ayal but they do not seem to like MSDN Essentials too much based on our registration numbers (not the evaluation ratings). So tell me- where are they and if they out there is there a particular reason they don't like to attend events? -- or is the market just much smaller? This dude is should just move to South Africa, or maybe bounce his connection through a server in .za land: It's true. I'm cursed w/ a 4.7 Mbps download pipe, which is great for most things, but bad when you need to stream test a Flash content. Does anyone know of a client-side network bandwidth throttler or something that would limit my download speed? Original post is here . Sometimes I wonder what has happened to the good old Borland that once used to be. Day by day I am becoming a Microsoft developer as I can't seem to figure out what Borland's mission is. I noticed a post about Delphi support of the Compact Framework 1.0 today by Borland's Chief Scientist Danny Thorpe in his entry titled “ Where's My Delphi for .NET Compact Framework? ”. In it he complains that the Compact Framework does not provide development tool vendors with a WinForms designer like...
