The Evil in IT. - Ops.

Oh boy, oh boy....   Why is it that whenever a program fails, it is always the developer that made a mistake somewhere?
I mean...  Please disregard the fact that the program has run flawlessly for more than 3 months now, and all of a sudden after maintainance was done on servers and the Ops people was working on things like, Uhm...  I don't know....  ACTIVE DIRECTORY....   Things suddenly goes wrong.

But alas.  It is still the developers fault.  Why is this?  Was there some unspoken rule created by the grandfather of IT, that pure logic accounts for nothing?

Or maybe logic is in the eye of the beholder...  Makes you think, doesn't it?

Hi Deon -- this is so true....

but i think the reason the developers get blamed is because that is an effective way of making sure the problem get solved.

The developers, when blamed for causing a problem, will immediately leap into action using their advanced intellect and problem solving skills to narrow down the focus of the problem.
