Vostok Station
I quite like free stuff, so when I came across this link today, I had to share it with all you guys. Vostok Station is a free e-book written by Kerry Plowright. It's a novel along the lines of Tom Clancy, Dale Brown, Steve Coonts. So if you enjoy reading "military style" novels and have a spare weekend, go get it! I haven't read it myself yet, but I plan to soon! powered by IMHO 1.3 Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Liquid Sculpture
My brother pointed me to this website: http://www.liquidsculpture.com which has some excellent high speed photos of droplets and splashes. Very expensive to order prints though. :) And for those keen on photography out there, he also has a link to a Depth of Field Simulator: http://www.liquidsculpture.com/DOF/DOF.htm which is an excellent tool IMHO. Life as a house
I just watched Life as a House on DSTV tonight, and I have to just mention that I quite enjoyed it. It's not an action, thriller, or deep plotted movie. It was just great to watch.. and makes me want to spend more time with my dad. I also wish that I had a house like they built in the movie. Watch it. New work setup
On Monday I got my new work laptop to replace my old destkop machine. ( Thea can testify to how cr4ppy they actually were.) So I'm well chuffed. Although I hope I can wangle to keep the other screen too. Having extended desktop is definitely something useful! The new machine is a Dell Latitude D505 and 1 gig RAM. New apps
Well, I have 2 new things to share with you that I've discovered recently. First, is a extention for Firefox to read RSS called "Sage". Get it here: Sage Goodbye SharpReader, you fat memory hog. Heh heh And another is BugTracker.NET. Get it here: BugTracker.NET . A nice ASP.NET application to track and manage bugs and issues for all your development projects. Really nice in that you can "watch" a project, and if someone adds a bug report, you get automatically emailed etc.etc. And the source code...
Friends
As the Beatles would say, "I get by with a little help from my Friends .." Yes, that is the new addition to my family. And at a calculated R70 per DVD, you cannot go wrong in my book! powered by IMHO 1.2 Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!
Google Maps... Bah poofie.
Everyone is raving lately about Google Maps but I say... BAH to that. For those of us who are not living in the US of A, check Multimap out... Kicks every other online map's butts! (If they had butts to be kicked, but that's a whole other discussion.) powered by IMHO 1.2 Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Lots of news
Well, I have lots of news... Last week Wednesday (16th), I passed my first MCSD.NET exam!! I chose to get the SQL exam (229) out the way first. Next I reckon that stupid analysing and defining one. But I'll see how it goes. I might decide otherwise later on. Then, on Friday afternoon I officially became a dad!! My baby girl was born at 5:10pm. She weighed 3.04kg and is the best thing to happen to me EVER! Welcome to the world Kyron Adkins. I've got an "email storyboard" with pictures if anyone's...
Word scramble
Try make words with your buddies online while other people try do the same...
