Yesterday, the official launch date for Windows Server® 2008, Visual Studio® 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server™ 2008 was announced at the Worldwide Partner Summit. It will be on 27 February 2008, in Los Angeles. (Launch dates for different countries will follow later.)
The June CTP of the Entity Framework is now available for download. The framework allows coders to program against data defined in a conceptual fashion instead of directly interacting with information stored in traditional table-and-column fashion.
Note:
-
The only version of Visual Studio that can be used with it is Visual Web Developer Express, according to the ADO.NET team blog.
-
The Entity Framework has been pulled from the Visual Studio 2008 release. It will be available later as an extension to Visual Studio 2008.
