If you're a developer in either Cape Town or Johannesburg, don't miss out on Brad's visit to South Africa.
Brad Abrams was a founding member of both the Common Language Runtime, and .NET Framework teams at Microsoft Corporation where he is currently the Group Program Manager for the UI Framework and Services team which is responsible for delivering the developer platform that spans both clients and web based applications as well as the common services that are available to all applications. Specific technologies owned by this team include ASP.NET, parts of Silverlight, and Windows Forms.
Aside from presenting at the MIX Essentials 08 events in Johannesburg and Cape Town, he will also do some community events in the evening. In Johannesburg he will do a talk on Silverlight 2 and in Cape Town he will talk on MVC.

You can now register for this first-time event in Gauteng. It's going to be fun, exciting and a great learning experience. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning :-) See you at the event.
Why not create your own games with XNA Game Studio 2.0? You can now even create games that will play on a Zune device. If you've tried your hands on gaming development, or is eager to give it a first shot, then check out the XNA Creater's Club. Premium membership is unfortunately only available in the US for the Beta program. Nonetheless, nothing prevents you from downloading XNA Game Studio and putting your game creation to the test. Go for it!

From TechEd Sun City to TechEd Durban, all is about to change. Bigger venue! More attendees! More sessions! More depth! More vibe!
However, without you, there is no TechEd :-)
I'm sure you're looking for more topics. This year we're doing it with 70 developer breakout sessions across all TechEd tracks. That's excluding Chalk and Talks, labs and other sessions. Go check Ahmed's blog for the 50 purely developer sessions.
I'm sure you're looking for famed international presenters. This year we're doing it. Go check Ahmed's blog.
I'm sure you're looking at having a good time. This year we're doing it with street parties, etc.
We believe it's a great deal!
Yet, all of this may not be enough to get you to attend.
So, tell us, what will it take to get you to TechEd. Or, what will it take to get your boss to let you go, sponsor your ticket, and give you 2 days leave to recover after TechEd?
The calculation is simple: more developers attending this year, means more sessions and more international speakers next year. We can grow a mountainous developer experience, every year building on the previous!
But, first of all,we need your feedback. We like honest feedback.
Everybody seems to be blogging about this! Let me get you to the essential resources.
Have fun :-)
Ever dreamt of presenting at TechEd! We’ll cover your trip to Durban, hotel accommodation and entry into TechEd. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it’s not impossible.
We’re looking for presenters that’s got developer technical knowledge, but is also able to have an engaging conversation with a large audience. All you need to start the process is submit your developer topic and a 5-sentence profile of yourself. You will be rated by your peers and potentially selected by Microsoft to “move to the next level”. The closing date for submissions is Friday, 16 May 2008. (The closing date was extended to 2 June 2008.)
You have a better chance of being selected for TechEd than winning the lotto! Why wait? Respond to this post and I’ll fill you in on more details.
