Devs4Devs - Saturday, 18 Oct 2008 (JHB)

Back in June we did a Devs4Devs.  The idea is simple.  Let developers from the community present to fellow developers.  We'll keep it short and to the point.  Every session only gets 20 minutes.  It's on a Saturday morning (09:00-12:00), so the vibe can be a bit more relaxed.  Microsoft will sponsor the snacks.  As I've said before, what better way to spend a Saturday morning!

Please note:  Microsoft does not do any speaker selection, topic selection or quality assurance.  You'll get it firsthand from the developer presenter.

The concept worked so well, that we're doing it again.  Hence, if you're eager to come present, reply to this post.  You decide the developer topic you want to present on.  However, it has to be a Microsoft developer topic.  We have maximum 10 speaker slots up for grab.

If you're eager to attend Devs4Devs, register without delay.

I'll also keep the blog updated with topics as presenter volunteers starts pouring in :-)

Agenda-as-it-grows:

  • Rudi Grobler - What’s new in .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Client Development
  • Mario Lionello - Data Parallel Operations with MS Accelerator
  • Robert MacLean - What’s new in SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services
  • Brent Samodien - Consuming Asp.Net Data Servives using Ajax
  • Greg Fibiger - Extraction, Transformation and Loading in MS SQL Server 2008 Integration Services
  • Nyaladzi Mpofu - Introducing Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio & Visual Programming Language (VPL)
  • Mike Geyser - LINQ - The Swiss Army Knife of Data Access
  • Martin Cronjé - Software Architecture: An introduction for developers

(For the guys in Durban and Cape Town, we'll have a Devs4Devs very soon in your area.)

Don't miss out!
