Whidbey Beta breaks Longhorn Beta

After hours of installing and re-installing and uninstalling and re-uninstalling (and powerful swearing), I found out that the Whidbey beta does not gel with Longhorn. Did I do something wrong? Whidbey rendered my Longhorn installation completely limbless.

(I noticed that the .NET frameworks on Longhorn (build 4074) and the Whidbey demo are of different version - Longhorn has v2.0.31113, whilst Whidbey comes with v2.0.40607).

If I remember correctly you can install the PDC Whidbey preview on Longhorn but not the Tech Previews or Betas.

Ugh, you should have asked me :-p I did exactly the same even though I was warned that it might destroy something...

As Armand said the pdc build will work and apparently from what I've heard beta 2 of VS2005 should work

Thanks guys - i'll know who to ask before doing funky stuff (ie. installing beta software on beta OS's) now ;o)
