Have a look at Miss Dewey, an interesting project by Microsoft. It utilises Flash to give Live search a (kinda sexy!) human face.

I'm unsure how our connectivity here at 24.com works, but my bandwidth from the office looks like this:

That is good "speed" if you consider my location: South Africa. Most people down here have no internet access at the moment, and the ones who do access from home use mostly dial-up (which is, in fact, totally unusable, and most users will terminate their contract after a bad experience). There are of course alternatives for home: ADSL (various providers) or iBurst (wireless).  Both offer more or less the speed I experience at the moment, but applying for an ADSL line to your home requires lots of patience in dealing with one of the most incompetent telecoms providers on our planet - you might wait up to six months, and no less than three, to get your line installed. It's also quite expensive for the average South African. At the moment my access costs me in the region of R599-00 (US$)81-00 per month for the iBurst package capped at 3Gb per month. Capped means that I can't send/receive more than 3Gb per month - as soon as I hit my cap, I will be throttled to a standstill, and iBurst coverage is unfortunately only available in the bigger cities.

I really hope South Africa and the rest of Africa, where access is even more limited and more expensive, will be able to reap the benefits of connectivity soon. Right now we're far from it, and facing the wrong way.

I don't recall when last I saw something this funny. Recognise this guy?
