Exploring VS2005
by
hannes
Last week I finally started exploring VS2005 . I had Beta2 for quite sometime but because of other things happing in my life I did not really got to play with it until now. My first impressing of the IDE is that I like it although a bit slow (hopefully another half a Gig of memory will make some difference soon) and no crashes so far. The MSDN library that shipped with Beta2 seems to be up to date with most topics although there is some topics that needs some more information, but for beta software...

.NET Partial Classes
by
hannes
Partial classes mean that your class definition can be split into multiple physical files. Logically, partial classes do not make any difference to the compiler. Read more here . Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

HttpWeb Requests
by
hannes
Using HttpWeb Request can sometimes be a real nightmare, ask me because it took me two days to get the basic's working. Well here is some help. I have created a base class with two methods. The first method (MakeRequest) accepts my request url and returns the response stream. You will then call the second method ( XmlStreamToDataSet) to convert the response stream to a dataset. I believe this will work in most cases. .code { word-wrap:break-word; margin:10px; padding:10px; border:2px ridge white;...

Cher
by
hannes
I had the pleasure last night to watch two of Cher Concert DVD's. The first one was her Live in Las Vages concert and the second one was her Farewell tour held in Miami. Well this lady can sing and boy for a woman nearer to 60 than to 50 she's got a body Britney Spears can only pray for. A must watch if you like her music.
