The last couple of weeks I've been spending a lot of time thinking about my career and my future in the IT industry. The fact is that if you want to stay alive in the IT industry you must be able to adapt. You can either adapt to your environment or you can adapt your environment. By adapting to your environment you compete in the rat race game of IT by always trying to be up to date with the latest technologies etc. This can be extremely difficult because as you grow older change becomes more difficult...

ISACA

Two years ago I had to do Auditing as a subject for my BCom. It was really interesting to see the SDLC from the end-point rather than the start-point. Having a understanding of auditing is like writing a test, if you know where the marks go it's always easier to score the points. If you are interested in the field of IT Auditing go to ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) website @ www.isaca.org. On the site there are plenty of stuff to download in PDF format including IS Standards...

Cricket
by

Wow, amazing, action packed, unbelievable. All words to describe yesterdays record breaking cricket match between Australia and South Africa. First Australia scored the highest international limit overs total, 434 runs from 50 overs. I think nobody believed that South Africa stood any change to win this one but they went and scored the winning runs with one ball remaining, an amazing 438, the highest first class limit overs total. Well done boys! Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it...
