Im the captain of the “Blou Kaas & Cane” team that participates in the fourth division touch rugby league in Centurion. We had a big victory over the log leaders (Hymax) last night. But what made it extra special was that we had no substitutions available. For those who don't know the game, there are 5 players of each team on the field for 40 mins, and because of the intensity & lack of fitness, substitutions are essential in a game of touch rugby.
Unfortunately all my subs decided not to pitch up & we where left with just five players who later became known as the super 5..We outplayed the other team in all aspects of the game & managed to scrape to a victory of 10-9, having lead 6-4 at half time..
Like i said the victory was extra sweet playing with only 5 players & beating the log leaders who had a full house of subs to their disposal and puts us on top of the log for the first time this season..
Once again thanx to my boys who played their harts out & lets hope that the Bulls can learn a thing or two from our guts & determination for their coming tour to Australia..
