What an amazing time I’m having in Cape Town so far; and a special Thank You to Ruari and Coral for allowing me to stay the night in their house after such a late dinner.
I thought I was just going to be attending the SA Dev meet, but it’s like I’m on a mentorship program with Ruari on the growth of SA Dev in CT and JHB. I’m very honoured to be in his presence with this frame of mind.
I also met Karen and Julie and we had Vic from Microsoft US who gave a captivating talk at the session about the future that Microsoft envisions and managed, quite successfully, to tackle difficult questions like Open Source and Remoting.
Today I’m looking forward to the LAN session that Rudolf and Deon are organising; I was given a brief demo of Dawn of War and I’m converted. I hope I uphold the Johannesburg honour of being able to dish out a beating.
I hope I get another chance to make a post while I’m in Cape Town (currently I’m sitting in Ruari’s lounge connected using my wireless card on my laptop).
Watch this space.
Post Note: The title of this post comes from the T-shirt Ruari gave me as he left for work. I find it amusing because, of course, I used to live in Cape Town and now I don't know if I should be here or back in Johannesburg.
