Just when you thought his 15 minutes were up ... Mike Rowe has resurfaced, evidently auctioning on eBay the infamous package of documents he received from Microsoft's intellectual property lawyers. Disk tools by matt

Early this morning I was saved by a ghost. I always keep a ghost image of my notebook with a clean setup of Office and other tools I regularly use. This saves me huge amounts of time since I tend to re-ghost my machine atleast every 2 months. Last night was different. The ghost image I had made included a 4GB linux partition for Fedora which I was dual booting into. This seemed like a good idea when I made the image since I was booting into it fairly regularly; however of late I don't think even...

...Speaking of blogging tools by matt

What aggregator are you all using? I used Feeddemon until it became shareware; then I moved to SharpReader and enjoyed it (bar the slow startup time and a couple other nigglies). I've looked at RSSBandit, but I get irritated by its continuous hanging as it loads the feed. I'm currently testing the 2.0 release of NewsGator which is good so far; but is gonna expire in 4 days. Update: I've noticed that NewsGator is a HDD thief. I guess because of it storing the data in Outlook's .PST files, it's not...

This is hilarious! by matt

Vietnam musclemen want their chicken HANOI - Bodybuilders in Vietnam are squawking about the absence of chicken in their diets after a bird flu outbreak hit supplies of the cheap source of protein. "We now have to use beef and fish, but beef has high fat and fish is poor in protein," Ly Duc, a bodybuilder with seven Asian gold medals, told the Vietnam News on Thursday. Duc typically eats six meals a day, comprising 1.2 kg of chicken and 16 egg whites. Duc said his daily food bill has doubled. "Now...

Browser domination by matt

It was bound to happen.... Mozilla is finally being recognised as a force to reckon with. This is being augmented by Microsoft who have no (public) plans to update IE significantly until Longhorn finally arrives. Check it our at Mozilla's site . I can personally recommend taking a good look at Firebird ; their “lean, mean browsing machine”. If you are however not interested in browsing with the Gecko engine, take a look at this little browser. Gives you tabbed browsing with banner and...

minimal porn by matt

I need some art for my house... I think these would be pretty cool! "No-frills hardcore action is taken to a formalist extreme in the paintings and videos in this Flash gallery, which reduce sex to a series of colors, shapes, and negative spaces." Wireless in JHB by matt

A company called Sentech is about to go live with what they call “unrestricted, high-speed, portable, always on Internet access at an affordable monthly cost”. However, in an interview on SAFM today they “admitted” that bandwidth will be shared with all users logging onto a specific access point. I think I'll wait to see what the first g uinea-pigs discover before moving to them from my 128K ISDN 'go-nowhere' connection. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it...
