by
matt
The locally designed and developed point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management software system, Positron, now runs on the Mandriva Linux (formerly known as Mandrake Linux) Open Source platform. HOWTO: Setup HTTP Compression on IIS6
by
matt
I just got asked by Danie how I had setup IIS 6 HTTP compression for one of my sites and I thought it might be useful to post the guide I used here . This works brilliantly; I just enabled it on my shared webserver and I'm feeling the difference! :) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

German Nationalist Spam
by
matt
There seems to have been some sort of worldwide spamming by a group of German nationalists this weekend. If you're running a mail firewall you can add this list to prevent further spamming. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Update to LFS S2 Alpha
by
matt
Here's a more refined taste of what to expect when S2 finally releases. This release seems to have much improved handling (due to better default setups /methinks) and a more powerful XF GTi with 120 bhp. Direct link to 0.5K to 0.5L patch (6MB) Full alpha 0.5L (27MB) Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Browser Market Share
by
matt
So there's a new blog in ZA which I was alerted to by Jo'Blog . Futurebank . It's an innovative idea by three Standard Bank employees to blog about " technology innovation in the South African financial service industry " in their personal capacities. Cool idea! Cool too, 'cause I bank with Standard. I digress... I noticed the SiteMeter link on their page and out of curiosity peeped at the traffic they are getting. A nice feature with SiteMeter is that they also have statistics on Browser Share....
