iPod FM Transmitter by matt

Hopefully there are some South African iPod owners reading this. A question for you: I've just bought myself an iPod and I'm looking at buying an FM transmitter. Have you got any advice for me regarding which device is best and possibly what to look for in a FM transmitter? There are two that I can get here in ZA.... they are the Griffin iTrip Auto and the Monster iCarPlay Plus . How much static do you pick up with yours? What frequency do you tune yours to? The future is Mac by matt

The rumours of Apple switching to Intel chips is true ( WindowsITPro ). This is fantastic news, as it is apparently going to hit the shelves mid-2006 (yes, the same time Longhorn is meant to RTM ) and I've always been a bit of an Apple geek. Broadband ZA vs Broadband UK by matt

ZA “ADSL's subscriber penetration level still remains below the one percent mark in a country where tele-density is estimated at ten percent or more than 4.5 million landlines“ - iAfrica UK “UK broadband connections overtake dial-ups” - PCPro This is before the recent price cuts . Let's see how much (if any) this changes in the next six months. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

Browser Market Share by matt

So there's a new blog in ZA which I was alerted to by Jo'Blog . Futurebank . It's an innovative idea by three Standard Bank employees to blog about " technology innovation in the South African financial service industry " in their personal capacities. Cool idea! Cool too, 'cause I bank with Standard. I digress... I noticed the SiteMeter link on their page and out of curiosity peeped at the traffic they are getting. A nice feature with SiteMeter is that they also have statistics on Browser Share....

Online Music Stores by matt

I have been using iTunes for managing my music since it was first ported to PC. At first the idea of purchasing single songs from the iTunes store seemed a bit ridiculous; however they now have a really good store where one can buy almost anything. However; you have to be in: The US Canada U.K Most countries in the EU and some Scandinavian countries ...to buy music. I have tried to screw the system giving my friends San Francisco address and using my credit card; but they can trace the card back...

Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition by matt

I've just installed and played with Windows Server x64 Edition with SP1 on the previously mentioned server. Needless to say it is blazingly fast ; more so than an identical server running a clean install of the 32 bit version and 4GB (physical) RAM. The future is looking bright!!! 64-bit Computing by matt

Now that I've bought my new AMD64 system, I'm very keen to try the BETA Windows x64 versions. While doing a bit of reading up around the subject I noticed, to my surprise, that the Intel PIV Prescott and Xeon's support the x64 extenstions too! I have just finished burning the build 1247 of Windows Server 2003 for x64 to CD and am installing on a nice new Dell 2850 with 2X3.4GHz Xeons. It should be interesting to see how it compares. I'm gonna pop in 8GB of RAM just to see if it really does support...

He told the Medill News Service that the dots only show up if you look at the document with a magnifying glass while...
