It took a while but slowly I'm getting the hang of the new version of BizTalk. It takes a while to get the hang of it but 'm seeing the light in the tunnel (hope its not the train...)

The product is really comprehensive and is really and big change on the previous version. There are some improvements and some things that feels the same. Overall an improvement I must say.

I've been a fan of the Data Application Blocks of Microsoft since it was released. However it discovered that there is one big thing I needed that it does not provide. Support for OleDb.

Thus, I created my own. That easy. Well, kind of.

I posted an article on it on Sadeveloper.Net that includes the source code as a download.

Please let me know what ur thinking of it and how it can be improved.

My machine at work that I use for development has been goving me the following errors:

The driver has detected that device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 has predicted that it will fail.  Immediately back up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure  may be imminent.

Seems like my machine developed the ability to predict things. Perhaps I should ask the lotto numbers before it crash! :p

Wish me luck in backing up everything and hoping I get to restore it again once they have rebuilt the machine.

With the braai over (phew it went past so quickly) the quietness settles in the house. I can't help to wonder how few times we as a bunch of friends come together these days. Its at places or events like these that u actually learn to know some people fro who they are. Sometimes with even the simple basic things u learn that diffferent people do it differently. Take making a fire and lighting it. Not gona say much more on that one now...

Well, at least we got to see David (mob54) fancy bike with which he do downhill races. That thing probably cost more than my car :-|

I think it was such a success that we have to do it again some time. Next time hopefully there will be more grass in the back yard and the evening will be a bit warmer as the summer approuch.

We have a nice group of friends here for which I'm very grateful. It could so easily be different these days with few people trusting others.

SA is still a 'tops' place to be!

When u get to the R102/Voortrekker rd/Van Riebeeck turn right. (going towards Somerset West)

Pass one set of traffic lights (Saxenburg complex/business area)

Stay to the left and the first place u can turn left (Rustdal/Jakaranda street) turn in left. (towards stellebosch rd)

Then the first left again (Maple way).

Right again at the T junktion (Blougom)

Yesterday we had a whole afternoon session planning some new exciting stuff for our Cape Town leg of SAdeveloper.net. Things have certainly grown from the humble beginnings where it was last year and even beginning of this year.

It is good to see we have a 'few' members that wants to be more involved and contribute in their own little ways. Certainly one idea that might seem more exciting (from a geek point of view) is the porting of the game Doom to C#. That will certainly spur some movement and interest. Slain (Deon Spengler) will be heading that.

Then there are all the actions we plan for the rest of the year. Can't say too much now about it (top secret - yeah right) but it's comming....

Then, don't forget the braai I'm having next saturday (17th July).

It's been a while since I 'blogged'. Been a bit hectic and not much to blogged about - well no good news or so.

I'm in the depts of BizTalk 2004 research to get to know the product better. I'm suppose to be the expert at the place I work...

The next big exciting thing from my valley will be a braai I'm trying to organise but as usual in Cape Town no one bothers to let me know they're interested. Oh well, their loss.

Now back to work
