I've been wondering if there were other people that also have a passion for stories in the sci-fi genre. I've tried my hand in writing some books and know it’s not exactly 'easy' since there are so many different things that different people like and dislike. Even if you can create or think of a good fictional story it is not that easy to tell it to others. The way it is told, type of language used and other extras can make even a good story a flop. I started the long process of translation my sci-fi universe diary. It will take some time but at least it is something I enjoy to do. In the end this diary can form the basis of a bigger sci-fi universe diary/history. Like all good stories it has to begin with a beginning... Its the stuff in the middle that takes to long... I have decided to give my project a codename. Since the abbreviation of story universe is SU it made me think of one of my favourite fighter jets planes : the Flanker (SU-27) So, from now on the project will be called Flanker May she fly high! SU (short for Story Universe from now on) I started creating some 'classes' for the different entities (ok I managed to create one...) yesterday eve. What is taking the most time is the 'constant' planning and rethinking of what needs to be done. In a way this will be a classical development project with requirements, spec and coding. I started playing with the idea again yesterday evening and started to draw up first a mindmap and then some simple ERD diagram for it.This is not gona be a short term project. I've been having a dream/vision to create something like this for a long while. A place where potential and upcomming Sci-fi writers can contribute to a larger story line or just make use of it. I've used this idea as an idea at the suggested sadev/saarchitect collaboration project. Regardless if it is selected as the 'project' or not I want to persue this idea anyway. It will be a long term project as I (or anyone) cannot possibly do this quickly and the concept itself must grow by itself as time...
