oooh i am so very very excited!
i've just been accepted on to the upcoming Microsoft Media center edition beta program.

the best part of all is i have no idea how it happened. i remember reading some article somewhere that talked about the beta program, clicking a link (you gotta forgive me for being so vague, but i must click at least a gazillion links per day), filling in a lengthy survey. that was the last i thought of it ... no way in firey hell that MS would ever pick little ole me down here in deep dark africa to be on one of their exclusive closed beta programs ...
then this morning i get into the office and BAM! i was almost knocked out of my very uncomfortable chair ... waiting in my inbox was the following ...
Dear Beta Tester,
We have approved your application for participation in the Microsoft® Update to Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 beta program.
...
i mean WTF!?!
so i promptly replied back and filled in yet another lengthy survey informing them that i am in fact not based within the borders of their fine country. no problem came the reply back. in fact it is one of the reasons i was selected. seems they need to test region based content filtering and stuff like that.
so what does all of this mean ...
well it means that MS is now shipping me a brand spanking new loan pc packed with all sorts of goodies for me to play with ....
toys!!!!!!!!!!
