Amazingly I haven't been bitten by the facebook bug yet. But it will come... Or not... Maybe I've outgrown Internet Addictions... Maybe.

I don't have issues, ***. If you can't tell the difference between the Internet and reality, then that's sad. It's called COMEDY.

Facebook is completely evil. I feel like I'm standing here in disbelief while everybody is getting excited by the invention of the Atom bomb....

You can't delete a Facebook account - you can only "deactivate" it. Once you have given them your personal details, you can never erase that mistake. Regardless of their promises, you can expect your personal details to be given or sold to advertisers. Always use a false name, DoB, &c for social sites, even when (as in facebook) they insist you give your real name. If you make a note of which false details you leave where, you can track where people have gathered info about you.

In todays society where nobody gives a shit about anyone else, where friendship isnt real its  socialising. Facebook is very well suited for all the bullshitters who want to pretend to be friends. The concept is clever but the ego is always hungry. So of course facebook is going to be addictive. something like facebook either starves or feeds the ego.

I like the fresh thinking and wish more people saw that. Facebook is not making friends... yes, it's better than nothing, but that's what it is - nothing. And that nothing is so time-consuming that it eventually becomes a monster disguised by good intentions. Great. At the end of the day you have no life but you have 237 frinds you superpoke.

Facebook is evil.

This is the world we are living in. Where society is becoming less moral and more corrupt. Jesus is coming soon for the rapture and the Anti-Christ is then going to rise up and tell the whole world to bow down before him and almost all people will. Then people would have to take the 666 mark on their forehead or on the hand in order to buy things. If you don't take the 666 mark then you would be persecuted or be killed. The prophecies in the Holy Bible are coming true. Read the book of Matthew, Isaiah, and Revelations in the Holy Bible if you want to know more about the Anti-christ and the signs that Jesus is coming back soon. Please people repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart before it's too late. You won't fear death,you will go to heaven, you will have joy in your pain because God will live in you and you will actually feel happy even when things are going bad because God gives hope to his people.  

Has everyone gone insane?  How can you post your personal information on a website for everyone to see?  You ARE giving away your freedom of privacy.  Who knows what corporation or government organization is using the information?  You are listing your name, birth date, schools you've attended, your friends, your likes/dislikes, your thoughts, your actions for facebook to document.  This is exactly what the New World Order groups want, everyone to be cataloged and watched.

Facebook is a heap of worthless time. How long does each  facebook fanatic spend on "poking people" and all that other worthless crap?!?

So much can be done for the real world instead of wasting time on stupid facebook.

Look at the whole "war in irag"! How pathetically pointless! Instead of making our world better we just destroy it bomb by bomb!

Look at those gasoline owners! We could be inventing amazing vehicles that run on nothing but those greedy losers shut everything down! It's all a complete waste of time, resources, and thought. Facebook is totally lame.

I never realised how utterly subversive it really is

I've just deleted my facebook account. I really hated the way people you didn't want anything to do with in real life wanted to be your friend...and look it's not as if in real life we would been friends...and if we had a chat and they said "Hey I'd like to be your friend" I'd say "we've got nothing in common, so hope that doesn't offend you"....but on facebook they can send you endless friend requests.....from via other 'Friends'...who are really just online people. ENOUGH...ITS OVER. NO MORE FACEBOOK. AHA...I'm now free. Yipeee! ;0

Lol, Hey Tom, did you actually read the article you linked to.  It would figure the one guy on here who see's facebook as having the power of good uses an article written for April fools day to back himself up.

People are beginning to live reality, online.  The lines between the two spaces are being obscurred.  I don't know that I would go so far as to say there's no possible good from Facebook.  But I do beleive it's dangerous.  It gives you a way of finding people that you want to find.  Is that a good thing?  I'm not sure.

I agree - have been on facebook for two weeks and at times have become a weirdo voeyer - what am I doing 'stalking' ex's and high school people I never liked.  Am deactivating NOW!
