BizTalk vNext Feature Request (Part 1 of n)

This is the first post in potentially a larger series of posts featuring things I would like to see changed in the next release of BizTalk Server.

This is probably more hopeful than anything else .... Somehow I am hoping desperately that somebody from the BizTalk product team stumble upon these requests and take note. What's the chances?

The first one of the small annoyances I have with BizTalk server, which has been there forever and still exists, is actually not with the server product itself but with the development tools in Visual Studio where I spend most of my time.

Please, oh please can somebody change that stupid little dropdown to something a little more useful. Something like a popup window, or even a dropdown list that is a little bigger so that it can show more than two items at a time. The horizontal scrollbar (especially) drives me nuts.

In a project that has any more than two schemas in it, it becomes incredibly difficult to scroll up&down as well as left&right to find your document type.

It would be far easier, IMHO, to always use the window that appears when you select the <Select from referenced> option as shwon below.

Is it just me? But, I cannot believe that this hasn't been requested numerous times before ....

Watch this space for other "feature" requests as and when I find them and the time to post about them.

What I'd like to see from you Ryan, is a good intro into what Biztalk is and why I/others should care about.

And then perhaps a good getting started guide for Biztalk.

I really look forward to having a non-MS Biztalk evangelist driving this cool technology to the less informed.

You bring up some good points Simon. I guess often I just presume that everybody knows the product and is as passionate about it as I am.

I'll start work on a series of posts which provide a background and intro to BizTalk and build from there.

Thanks for your input.
