Silverlight 2: The Developer's Perspective

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based rich applications for the Web. This allows developers to develop in a familiar language using a familiar set of tools.
Some topics that will be covered in this talk include doing full CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) using the Silverlight DataGrid, building Custom Controls for re-usability and some of the new features introduced in beta 2 such as better support for WCF and LINQ to JSON.

Speaker: Nicholas Goossens

Nicholas Goossens graduated with a BSc Hons in 2006 and has since been developing web based software both locally and abroad.  In 2007 he represented South Africa at the international software development competition, Imagine Cup (www.imaginecup.com).  .Net development has become part of his daily life and his blog can be found at www.nixusg.com.
