I have decided to break my blogging absence with a completely
non-technical post. You should be glad that I didn’t try to post
anything technical as it would have been about analysing and
fixing old VB6 and ASP applications, or spending my weekend at IS
rebuilding Windows 2000 Servers. Doing that 8 hours a day has
completely demotivated me and I didn't even want to look at a pc after
hours. I even thought about giving up programming and rather start with
something new than wasting my time with this sh*t.
But what do
they say – good things come to those who wait – We will start rewriting
this system in January using all the 2005 releases and following XP
practices. So I think I’ll keep on programming a bit longer :P
Then last Friday was one of the happiest days in my life – for the
first time in about 10 years I had a birthday party, and not just a
birthday party, but a surprise birthday party that Armand organised
with the help of some friends. And also not just any party – he booked
4 bands for the evening!!! It was so cool, most of my friends were
there and each band called me up on stage to give me drinks and some
free goodies. I can’t believe Armand pulled this off!! Thanks, thanks,
thanks!! I love you!
This is my last week at work, and then we are off to Namibia till
the 3rd of January. We’re going to visit my family that is on holiday
in Hentiesbay. Can’t wait to get away, just a pity it is so short.

only on 31 December - but no one is ever here by that time, so that is
why I had the birthday now.]
