Some dev tips
IE Developer Toolbar is a nice tool for web developers when you want to understand/troubleshoot the layout of a web page. I used it to change a sites css, saved me a lot of time!!! I remember seeing it a while ago, but then it was still a bit buggy, the Beta 2 release is much better. (IE did crash once when I went a bit crazy with it)

Another tip that I find useful is when you copy code from VS is to hold in Alt while you copy - this way you keep the indentation on the left. Tried it in Notepad2, but it doesn't work that well. Doesn't work in Notepad. Maybe better to show it with an example.
Instead of this:

You'll get this:

And something that Kevin showed me a while ago (I can't believe I did not know about this!) is you hold in Ctrl and click several items on your taskbar to close them simultaneously!!
And we say thank you....
And thank you to the lovely Armand who put so much blood and sweat into this blogging community, even when it means less time for running :P Thanks for immediately (literally) upgrading us to the RTM - there are so many cool new features and the usability is MUCH better!
IT is boring

I went to a Women in IT event again this morning. I love what they are doing, giving bursaries to girls who want to study in the IT field, having mentorship programs, helping out in the community. They have a new project where they need women in the community to go and help out at a hospice in Olievenhoutbosch for a day. Olievenhoutbosch is a very poor area with about a 50% unemployment rate.

On top of that it is a great networking opportunity, meeting other women that work at IT companies. Please note my words: work at IT companies. Unfortunately all the women I met at these events are actually in sales, finance or marketing. Not even one technical one :(

The worst conversation today went like this:
Me: So what do you do at XYZ?
She: I'm in sales and you?
Me: I'm a programmer.
She: O, the boring part of IT.
Me: WTF are you in any way doing here if you are in sales? (Not really, but I wanted to)

WTF!!!??? Isn't that actually the mentallity that we are trying to squash with these kind of events?? Freaking women!! :P
