Blogging from Word 07
It seems that many people who are using Office 2007 are unaware that they can blog from within Word. Although Armand made a post about this a while back I'm just going to repeat his post. This is quiet useful because it looks like you working while you're actually blogging ;)
Blogging from Word 2007
Just a quick note on the setup for blogging to this site from Word 2007 or other MetaWeblog API clients' tools:
- In Word Community Server is listed as a provider which makes it rather simple, just select it. For other clients you still need to select a MetaWeblog API option.
- The service endpoint it's looking for is http://dotnet.org.za/blogs/metablog.ashx. That is the location of the MetaWeblog API implementation on Community Server. (If you want more info on this check out the specification over here)
- The username and password is the same credentials you currently use to access the site.
- On Word 2007 you'll get a list of blogs to which your account has access. In most cases there should only be one or it will just let you through with your blog selected by default. On other clients you fill in your blog identifier, http://dotnet.org.za/<blogname>, in the blog id field.
- That should do it There's some more answers to common questions over here on blogging from Word 2007.
