Agile Software Development is number 18!

The South African software community is far behind the curve in the adoption of Agile Software Development practices, and the excuses that I hear for not adopting it is quite entertaining. Meanwhile, CNN has published a list called The 50 who matter now. It is a list of "people, products, trends, and ideas that are transforming the world of business" and Agile Software Development is listed in 18th place.

I find it a sad reality as well :-( Anybody aware of local SA companies doing agile development of some kind or do we need to look overseas if we want this kind of development environment?

We do agile (redfivelabs.com) internally but don't do development work for outside companies. You might want to get in touch with http://www.professional-it.co.za if you want people who are really passionate about XP/Agile.
