Redmond Sabbatical - Day 3
Day 3 ... oh yes, I failed to create an update for day 1 and 2. The reason for this omission is not my aging gray matter or lack of commitment, but rather lack of energy an
d time. The flight from South-Africa to the US went well, with the plane onboard map showing us ahead of schedule by close to an hour half-way across the Atlantic ... but had we known about the major storms on the East coast we would have been prepared for the turbulence on approach ... "wings can literally bend a long way on an airbus" ... and the chaos at the US airports. Due to the storms, hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled and subsequently the airport was filled with a lot of unhappy people, queuing to get on connecting flight. Our flight eventually arrived nearly an hour late, customs was as meticulous as ever ... I paced for 72 minutes in the immigration hall ... and ended up in the same queues as I subsequently missed my connecting flight.
I arrived late on Monday night ... that's more than 30 hours after leaving SA ... and then met up with Bill from the BPA team, who gave me an information dump of note, making my head spin and forcing me into early retirement on Tuesday afternoon. Today is Wednesday morning and I am catching up with the daily admin stuff, loading the latest Orcas build and sorting the BPA bits that have invaded my humanoid storage.
TFA BPA (Best Practice Analyzer) and Power Shell ... exciting topics I will be talking a lot about in due course.
