Why is the interoperability drive so important to us?

This must be the gazillionth time I am writing this blog post, whereby I deleted the previous attempts as I wanted to avoid the possible whiplash I will receive from some of my colleagues and the more 'radical' technologists. Henk, who is one of my colleagues involved in our interoperability drive within our company, in our technology communities and more recently at universities, emailed me two links, which everyone must have a look at: Microsoft Becomes Official Apache Sponsor Sam Ramji...

Vista - Run As Other User

We are currently battling with our Vista based laptops, as our remote assistance and remote access has been disabled after the last batch of hot fixes, and literally grayed out ... we cannot enable. We are raising a support incident as we cannot find a resolution and as the issue is quite frustrating. We will report back on this gremlin. Another frustrating Vista issue is the lack of the "Run As Other User" feature. Once again SysInternals comes to the rescue with the ShellRunas utility...

RSS Aggregated Viewer ... can anyone help SA Architect?

We need a SharePoint WebPart for the SA Architect which aggregates a number of predefined RSS feeds, based on a category filter. In other words, we would like to aggregate feed A, B and C, showing only posts with a predefined category, i.e. SA Architect. Can anyone assist the SA Architect community in this regard or refer us to such a control? Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

SDLC - We can learn from other industries ...

" Dad, what are these people doing? " my son asked me while we walked past a construction site on the way to school. Being in a rush as always and dragging three really motivated sons to school on a Monday morning made me answer "don't know", without really having a look. On my way back, however, I wondered what he meant and watched the site for quite a while. The building team was in a hot-tub formation ... that's a circle for non-scuba divers ... discussing plans and...

Apologies for low profile and plans for August+

Firstly I wish to apologize to everyone for having such a low profile, however, production projects and the imminent release of our book “.NET Enterprise Solutions … Interoperability for the Connoisseur” is creating a rather hectic schedule for our team. This post is intended to reassure that we are still around and to give you a summary of what is planned for August 2006 and beyond. August 2006 www.drp.co.za … will soon get a facelift, whereby we are planning to deliver better developer readiness...
