TechED 2008 South-Africa - Q&A Part 2

Continued from http://dotnet.org.za/willy/archive/2008/08/05/teched-2008-south-africa-q-amp-a.aspx . When will Microsoft support integration with TFS/VSTS for the Expression Blend tools? The topic has been under discussion with the product team and MVPs, whereby it seems that integration is under serious consideration. We will update this blog post as soon as we notice movement on that frontline. Share this post: email it! | bookmark it! | digg it! | reddit! | kick it! | live it!

TechED South-Africa Day 3 ... nearly done!

With only 1/2 day to go, the TechED 2008 event is drawing to a close. While our colleagues are celebrating at the beach, some of us have withdrawn to the MVP Cave to prepare for the last few sessions tomorrow, some unexpected and some needing final polishing. Here are some of today's pictures: As reported, Brian arrived and immediately delivered an exceptional TFS Build session. Other than that we completed the "Why focus on Academia" and "What does it take to be a MVP" Virtual...

TechED 2008 South-Africa - Q&A

Here are some of the questions we received during TechED, which we promised to follow up. Thanks to the "rocking" MVP and product colleagues, we also have some answers q;-) What is the support of MSSCI with TFS 2008 … are there any known issues or is the product fully supported? Fully supported with the latest MSSCCI provider Power Tool Is there an add-in to integrate Delphi development IDEs and TFS, i.e. a Delphi(Team)prise type product? See the blog post "Connecting Team Foundation...

Hunt the MVP...

Ruari had a brilliant idea to ensure that the MVPs have an opportunity to engage with the communities ... the MVP hunt. While it has proven quite nerve racking, with people pouncing on MVPs with gazillion hunt forms to sign ... which can be a challenge when trying to prepare for the next session starting in 13 seconds, or trying to reach the restrooms, or simply trying to have a technology chat at the community lounge, it has definitely brought the MVPs and the community closer together. Ruari, thanks...

TechED South Africa Day 2 ... Brian is finally on his way!

It is just after midnight and the MVPs are still playing Guitar Hero III at the MVP Cave. We had a long day and apart from the Interoperability and the Build sessions we hovered at the community stand and tried to hide from the masses hunting the MVPs ... thanks Ruari for the brilliant idea! Unfortunately I was not able to attend any session yet and can therefore not report on content. Tomorrow we have two Virtual TechED sessions and a chalk and talk with Chris Menegay and Brian Randell, which means...

TechED South Africa Day 1 ... Setup, keynote and opening party.

We spend most of the day setting up the MVP Chalk and Talk room and the community lounge ... thanks to everyone for the hard work in  both areas! Willie, relax, we will have the coffee machine and sort out the rest in the morning q;-) The keynote was like any TechED keynote, focusing on virtualisation, Silverlight 2 and collaborating using technologies such as office communication service (OCS). Rosario was mentioned briefly, as was interoperability. The focus on communities, or lack thereof...

TechED 2008 South-Africa ... T-18 ... who's who in the zoo?

Is it worth going to TechED? Well, just considering the community initiatives, such as the MVP Cave, the community lounge, the MVP chalk&talk (CnT) sessions and the opportunity to meet with the community leads and MVPs, should be a motivation to make the "trek" down to Durban! We have posted a summary of the CnT's we will be delivering and the faces you may see in Durban on our www.saarchitect.net community server. Another view, and this is a DRAFT Microsoft-non-approved view, of...
