Microsoft Academic Alliance Installation Festival 2008 Africa Pilot Successful!!!!

Saturday (1 st of March 2008) was the first day of the Microsoft Academic Alliance Installation Festival ( pilot ). We've had an attendance from Final Year and Post Graduate Information Systems and some Computer Science students from University of Cape Town. I've had an over 2 hour talk which started with new Visual Studio 2008 Development, and after that introduction to OBA, SharePoint, SOA and ESB (a lot of talking). Microsoft Academic Alliance Installation Festival 2008 Africa

We are organising the first (hopefully, of many) MS AA Installation Festival at University of Cape Town on the 1 st and 4 th of March 2008. Some of you in the community know that I've been pushing for this to happen with Microsoft SA for a while, well since my trip to Redmond where I had a chance to meet the core Academic Alliance team and share common insights in how communities can work and operate better in respective countries. My Trip To Redmond......... Academic Alliance

I met with Bruce Curling of Academic Alliance Day 1 and Day 2 (who manages distribution of Microsoft technologies into the universities ), we discussed academic initiatives, he was describing in detail how Academic Alliance works, and I was telling him about our universities, curriculum, also Microsoft partners, general feeling, problems and potential of university graduates in SA (from my experience) and we discussed how to form communities that can cultivate passion and ambition for Microsoft technologies...
